The hugely popular ABCurry Club event returns on Thursday 13th October 2011 at 530pm. Hosted by Your Homes Newcastle and supported by Newcastle UXL at YHN’s Newcastle Furniture Service – Unit 5 Greenfinch Way, Newburn Riverside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE15 8NX

The Bolloywood Ball returns this year again when the organisers of the the now reknowned Bollywood Ball present the event of events. An upmarket and tastfull event at a top venue exhuberating an unrivalled atmosphere ....don't be fooled by cheap imitations! Bollywood Ball is the original Bollywood themed dinner dance in Newcastle.

Our Story So Far...

-Launch event at the Baltic with over 120 local, national and international attendees, showcasing world class entertainment including Ash Mukerjee from the BBC’s Dance Like Michael Jackson show and Desi Nach the all-white Indian Dance Group. The event was specifically hosted at the Baltic Arts Centre to promote the cultural and arts appreciation in the North East, attracting non-traditional visitors to the venue.

-Hosting Charity Abseils off the Malmaison hotel and Segedenum Roman Fort in Wallsend – in all over £50,000 was raised through ABC for various charities including Cash for Kids, Charlie Bear for Cancer Care and Marie Curie.

-Practical networking seminars hosted at Ward Hadaway that included, Licencing, Debt Recovery, Top 10 Legal Tips, Property Management, and Health & Safety.

-A Networking Event hosted by Sintons during interfaith week. Celebratory guests including Syed Ahmed from the BBC’s Apprentice and Hari Shukla OBE/MBE promoting community cohesion and the benefits of collaborating.

Event and Seminar Highlights for 2010 were (Connecting):

ABC’s work effort is thematically based and as such each business activity aims to Connect, Support or Promote.

The Programme of Support Included (Supporting):

-Tendering Workshops – Delivered by the Head of Procurement at Gateshead Council and Boomerang Consultancy. Providing both practical and theoretical support and assistance from experts involved in the day-to-day delivery of Procurement and Tendering.

-Licencing Programme – The development of a practical licensing education programme that provides on-site support and advice to General Dealers and Business Owners in the Leisure Industries. This programme is the first of its kind in England and will help tackle drink related issues including underage drinking.

-Modelling Qualifications – In partnership with Model Boot Camp delivering the first modelling qualification to BME communities, specifically Asian women that would normally not undertake such unique training.

-Helped launch 87 new start-ups across all sectors including carbon/alternative energy and paperless based technologies.

-Assisted and/or supported 394 existing businesses, sourcing finance and investment through to business development and growth.

-ABC and Partners trained 311 organisations/individuals.

-Our members generated/created 254 new jobs.

-Collectively our member’s turnover is over £850m per annum in the North East alone. Ranging from McDonalds Franchises through to large Private Taxi Hire Companies, Exporters, Manufacturers, Health Care Leisure industries, and Professional Services.
