Bryonn Architecture Limited

Independent Award

As the Founder and Director of an architecture firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne and London, I am honoured to have been nominated for the Independent Award Category.
My company, Bryonn Architecture Limited is one of the esteemed architecture firms in the North East, renowned for its specialisation in commercial architecture. The company’s diverse portfolio includes, hotels,
HMOs, housing, listed building transformations, community centres, residential and more. I enjoy the privilege of working with a numerous local authorities across the nation. Bryonn Architecture proudly maintains a near 100 percent success rate in planning and building control approvals.
Following my architectural degree in 2007, my professional journey commenced in Mumbai, where I was one of the project architects for prestigious university buildings and housing tower projects. Subsequently, I completed my master’s degree in Urban Design from Newcastle University.
In 2014, I established Bryonn Architecture Limited in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a steadfast commitment to delivering sustainable architectural developments across multiple sectors. My aim was to create a lasting impact on various aspects of the city’s built environment by specialising in various sectors. Despite the inherent risks and challenges associated with this approach, our firm’s specialisation in diverse sectors, coupled with our deep technical, legal, and policy knowledge, has enabled us to successfully transform over
400 complex projects. These projects encompass both new builds and adaptive transformations of several derelict buildings situated in prime city centre locations.
The expertise of Bryonn Architecture has helped local authorities, stakeholders, and built environment professionals to make informed decisions during the life cycle of the projects. As a result, more meaningful architectural developments have been achieved that are resilient to future social and economic changes.
This is also largely evident in the sensitive conservation areas and transformation of listed buildings of historic or political interest such as the famous Felling Town Hall.
Since my early days of architectural studies, I have aspired to establish an architecture firm that is community-oriented, prioritising social and environmental considerations. Consequently on the onset of my company in 2014, I initiated a self funded charitable research initiative within the firm, designated as CRD (Collaboration + Research + Design), where I allocate a certain percentage of my resources to fund architectural work of community projects. This has also brought me closer to understanding community aspirations and their vision of a developments in their neighbourhood. Within CRD, an environment has been established for young aspiring professionals to seek our guidance and mentoring. When engaging with communities, we encourage individuals from diverse age groups and backgrounds to share their valuable thoughts and experiences throughout the design development process.
Over the last decade, I have had the privilege of engaging with communities and developing successful community and religious projects such as the Blyth Mosque, Wingrove Road Community Centre, and certain Grade II listed building projects of significant historical and community interest. Recently, I have been involved in development of a renovation scheme for the Newcastle Hindu Temple on the West Road.
I play a pivotal role in the entire project cycle ensuring a multidisciplinary engagement with all the involved built environment professionals. This collaborative approach facilitates their respective decision-making processes, collectively leading to a robust project outcome that is underpinned by our comprehensive research and design process.
Last year, I was honoured with the title of ‘MOST PROMISING COMPANY FOUNDED OR MANAGED BY INDIANS IN THE UK 2024’ by Silicon India in its annual listing of the 20 most promising technology driven companies in the UK. This year, I am immensely delighted and grateful to ABConnexions for nominating me for this esteemed award in the Independent Award category. It is reassuring to know that my efforts have been in the right direction when recognised by an organisation like ABConnexions, which is at the forefront of
empowering communities. This recognition will serve as a strong motivation for my journey ahead
