FAR Accountancy Training
Inclusion By Default
FAR Training – Inclusion by Default
At FAR Training, inclusion isn’t a tick-box—it’s the starting point. As a specialist accountancy apprenticeship provider, they believe everyone should have the opportunity to succeed in the profession, regardless of background, age, or circumstance.
From the outset, FAR Training has focused on social mobility, accessibility, and real-world impact. They work closely with young learners aged 16–21, individuals from minority communities, and women returning to the workforce—groups often underrepresented in accountancy. By partnering primarily with SMEs across North Yorkshire and beyond, they create pathways into the profession that are both meaningful and sustainable.
Their innovative approach ensures training meets each learner’s needs. For one learner who had health issues, this meant recorded lectures and weekly one-to-one sessions instead of sitting through long classes. For others, it’s flexible start dates, fun and interactive lessons to keep young learners engaged, or additional sessions to help late starters integrate seamlessly.
They are also unafraid to go above and beyond. FAR has trained learners for free when they couldn’t secure an apprenticeship contract, continued education for those who lost placements, and supported bursary schemes to make sure no one is left behind.
The results speak for themselves—most learners begin at Level 2 and progress steadily in their careers, with feedback from both learners and employers almost always rating the training as “good” or “excellent.” At their last OFSTED inspection, they were rated as “Good”.
With 52% female learners, 60% aged 16–21, and 68% working for SMEs, FAR is making a measurable impact on representation in the sector.
Through partnerships with organisations like Derwent Training, they amplify opportunities beyond their own field, promoting engineering and leadership apprenticeships to their employer network. Their live-online delivery means that learners in remote or underserved areas can access the same high-quality training as anyone else—whether they’re 16 or 60.
FAR Training lives by its core values—Inclusivity, Social Mobility,
Excellence, Accessibility, Collaboration, Innovation, Empowerment, and Integrity—not just in words, but in action, proving that professional success should be accessible to all.
