John Mills-STTAA

John Mills is the founder of STTAA CIC for the unique and pioneering work his start up CIC business is addressing.

STTAA is an innovative initiative whose mission is to:
“Raise standards and transform the 'Home to School' transportation experience for children and young people with autism.”

John has been a school bus driver since 2022 taking autistic children to and from school and could see firsthand the huge gaps in the service and the training of drivers and assistants in delivering a personal tailored rexperience for each young person.

He has workied tirelessly for the last 2 years along side his driving responsibility to research with the parents. the teachers , the transport providers course creators, autism awareness trainers, universities, local authorities, Councillors, MPs to ensure with his vision and mission raising standards and revolutionising the 'Home to School' transportation experience for children and young people with autism.


Still in its very early stages he has 2 local authorities committed to running a pilot scheme and won two awards with the Internet of Caring Things from Newcastle university for People's Choice and Longevity award after extensive market research within the community

His pioneering approach and passion to make the NE the first place to adopt and champion the STTAA aproach both re training drivers, bringing inclusive employabilty to the sector and life changing sensory buses for the children deserves recognition, support and collaborative innovation that can be rolled out nationally.

And deserves the incredible recognition that this award could bring and the momentum for making all the difference to so many autistic school children now and in the future
