Steve Russell
Steve Russell is an accomplished leader with over 26 years of experience in the NHS, having held prominent roles across multiple trusts and organizations. As the Chief Delivery Officer and National Director for Vaccination and Screening at NHS England, Steve plays a critical role in driving the success of the nation’s public health initiatives. Since February 2022, he has led the Vaccination and Screening programmes, overseeing crucial efforts in safeguarding public health and addressing pressing healthcare challenges.
Before his current role, Steve served as Chief Executive at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust from 2019 to 2022. His leadership was instrumental during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he also held the position of Chief Executive of NHS Nightingale Yorkshire & Humber, managing one of the emergency hospitals established to handle the national crisis.
