Uma Malhotra is the dynamic Managing Director of Cover Beauty, a thriving enterprise that encompasses six successful beauty businesses. Originally from Wolverhampton, Uma’s journey from a boarding school in Mussoorie, India, to becoming a business leader in the North East of England is a testament to her resilience, determination, and vision.

Her career in beauty began humbly at Benito Brow Bar, but within just 10 months, she opened her first beauty kiosk in Washington Galleries. Since then, Uma’s dedication and entrepreneurial spirit have seen her grow Cover Beauty into a multicultural business with over 35 employees from diverse backgrounds, including Indian, Iranian, Malaysian, Chinese, Pakistani, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, and English team members. Many of her staff view English as a second language, and Uma is committed to empowering them by providing an inclusive environment where they can thrive and support their families.

Uma's leadership is not only about business success but also about creating opportunities for women from all walks of life. Her ambition extends to opening more beauty salons and establishing a training academy to nurture future talent in the industry.
